Rallye 7 Vallees d' Artois 2017 - Prologue & ES1 Fruges
The Friday activities at the 3rd edition of the R7VA visited all rally areas firstly with the reconnaissance and then with the verification procedures at Hesdin followed by a visit to the Parc Ferme at Auchy les Hesdin and then to Fruges for the first test, a 5.5km special held in the early evening at dusk against the backdrop of a wind farm on the hills to the West of Fruges. The SSV Group completed the special in daylight followed by the T2 Production cars as the light started to fade. By the time the T1 cars started the drivers were relying on their enhanced lighting and filming the scene became more difficult. I hope the pictures give a flavour of the day's action.

Rallye 7 Vallees d' Artois 2017 - ES6 Canlers 2
Another rapid transit to get here from Cavron but unfortunately we missed the first of the SSV Group, Sebastien Guyette and Jenny Lopez who took first with a margin of 8.7 seconds over second placed Jordy Delbouys and Olivier. The T2 group were delayed by a course obstruction caused when the leading car, 391 stopped. All the following T2 vehicles were awarded the same time penalty thus neutralising the special.
It was business as normal for the T1 group with another scratch for Vincent Poincelet and Julien Riviere, with a useful 16.6 seconds lead over Grégory Vincent and Sebastien Mequinion. Chris Bird and Amanda Hammond arrived third a further 1.7 seconds later. For 2wd Thibault Flouret-barbe and Morgane Rivet again took first this time 7.8 seconds ahead of Yann Clevenot and Coralie Blondet

  R7VA 2017 - Auchy Reconnaissance
This special from the Depart is the same as in previous years. As the route approaches the road near Montigny the special turns left instead of right, follows the road then swings right into the valley "Fond de la Carnoye". The video does not cover the valley but follows
the special again as it returns to the road. The video follows the road then stops just before a left turn into the field opposite "les Terres de Montigny" The special continues on the route of last year but terminates 500m later before the road crossing used in previous
years.

  R7VA 2017 -  Cavron Reconnaissance
Another new special. This one called Cavron is just to the North West of Hesdin. This special will definitely suit the faster cars with some long stretches of farm tracks, both surfaced and unsurfaced included in its 14.8km length.
